Grown Isn’t a Number—It’s an Awakening

You’re not grown until you know how to communicate, apologize, be truthful & accept accountability without blaming someone else.

I found this on social media, I don’t know who wrote it, but I know it fits a situation I am still trying to forgive.

You are not grown because you hit a certain age.

You are grown when you can sit with discomfort, hear the truth without defending, and say, “That was my fault,” without burning the world down around you.

I did not learn that in my twenties.
Hell, I did not even learn it in my forties.

I learned it when everything fell apart, and I had to choose between blaming others and embracing growth.
Between silence and truth.
Between saving face and saving myself.

We all want healing.
But healing does not happen in a vacuum. It happens when we start communicating, not just with others, but with ourselves.

  • When we stop pretending and start admitting.
  • When we stop blaming and start owning.
  • When we apologize not for peacekeeping, but for accountability.

That is when we grow.
That is when we begin.

And if you are somewhere in the middle of all that? You’re not failing.
You are beginning.

With love and truth,
Carole
