Hello and welcome — I’m Carole Sanek, and I’m so glad you’re here.
I’ve always been a helper. I spent many years as a nurse, working across specialties — oncology, wound care, post-operative care, and breast cancer recovery support — even in Costa Rica. I walked alongside patients through pain, healing, and sometimes loss. It shaped how I show up in the world: gently, boldly, and always with honesty.
Life, however, brought its own curriculum.
I’ve walked through trauma, through grief, through the loss of my forever love — my husband — who died suddenly in our home after we had planned a whole new life together. That day broke me in ways only grief understands. And yet… it also ignited something. A purpose. A fire.
That fire now lives in my work as a writer, podcaster, and speaker. I am the author of The Unforgiven Walk Alone, a memoir about trauma, survival, and reclaiming one’s voice, and the I laced up my Running Shoes, about the miles we run to survive — and the courage it takes to stop running finally Running Shoes is published and available here. Held will follow, a story of resilience, grace, and the ways love carries us forward.
Here, on this site, you’ll find:
- Writing that doesn’t flinch from truth
- Grief support through my private Substack, Butterfly Tracks
- Signed books and offerings through my shop
- Encouragement, always — whether you’re just surviving or rising again
This is more than a website. It’s a safe space. A place where women like me — and maybe like you — come to catch their breath.
And one more thing: Rosie lives here too. She’s my four-legged therapist, and she makes sure I remember to rest, play, and walk through the woods when words get too heavy.
Thanks for finding me.
With fire and grace,
Carole 🔥🦋✨
