Grown Isn’t a Number—It’s an Awakening

You’re not grown until you know how to communicate, apologize, be truthful & accept accountability without blaming someone else.

I found this on social media, I don’t know who wrote it, but I know it fits a situation I am still trying to forgive.

You’re not grown because you hit a certain age.

You’re grown when you can sit with discomfort, hear the truth without defending, and say, “That was my fault” without burning the world down around you.

I didn’t learn that in my twenties.
Hell, I didn’t even learn it in my forties.

I learned it when everything fell apart, and I had to choose between blame and growth.
Between silence and truth.
Between saving face and saving myself.

We all want healing.
But healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens when we start communicating, not just with others, but with ourselves.

  • When we stop pretending and start admitting.
  • When we stop blaming and start owning.
  • When we apologize—not for peacekeeping, but for accountability.

That’s when we grow.
That’s when we begin.

And if you’re somewhere in the middle of all that? You’re not failing.
You’re just… becoming.

With love and truth,
Carole
